Dorcy
Who is Dorcy?
Headquartered in Columbus Ohio, Dorcy is a global enterprise designing, producing, and distributing portable lighting products around the world. They manufacture a wide array of world class flashlights for general household use as well as outdoor / sport and industrial applications. In addition Dorcy is a leading maker of portable lanterns, for camping, and emergency lighting, some equipped with USB connectivity, Bluetooth audio functionality and Mobile Apps with built in weather stations.
Working with a team, we designed and build a completely new Magento 1 e-commerce solution to retail their products online. Our build included a feature rich display of their products with as well as an integrated WordPress blogging add on where they are able to feature their products.
Project:
This project was a complete Magento 1 site build that was designed to showcase all of Dorcy’s newest and innovative lighting products. Along with the Magento’s built in e-commerce functionality we built custom “Lookbook” pages featuring Dorcy’s three main product industries. We also connected a WordPress blog platform for publishing featured news, product articles and customer reviews on their site.

What I did:
Working with a backend developer, I was the lead front end developer on the project. I was responsible for working with the design team to turn the photoshop designs into a beautiful, full functioning user interface. I was responsible for building php + xml template structures, css styling and all javascript development on the site.
